Photo exhibition in Geneva highlights persecution of minorities in Bangladesh by Yunus’ Government

Geneva (Switzerland), July 02, 2025 (ANI): Photo exhibition held on July 01, at iconic Broken Chair monument in front of UN Office in Geneva. Exhibition amid UNHRC’s 59th session aimed to draw international attention to worsening human rights situation in Bangladesh. It showcased alleged human rights violations and increasing persecution of minorities in Bangladesh, in particular, following the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 5 August 2024. Exhibition was organised by members of the Bangladeshi diaspora, human rights activists, and community leaders. Exhibits documented reported attacks on religious minorities, especially Hindus & Buddhists, and political detentions. Nazrul Islam Zamader, Switzerland based human rights activist, accused interim Govt of orchestrating mob violence, targeting vulnerable communities. Rahman Khalilur Mamun, another activist warned of systemic religious persecution and economic decline.
