J&K: Youth from remote village of Baramulla cracks Indian Statistical Service examination

Baramulla (J&K), Jan 02(ANI): Kashmir valley got its second qualifier of the ISS exam. A 26-year-old youth named Syed Adil Zahoor from remote Hajibal village of Baramulla district brought pride to the valley. Syed Adil Zahoor is currently serving at the Block Development Office Qaziabad as the Accounts Assistant and cracked the exam on his first attempt. The first Kashmiri to have qualified the ISS was Haji Altaf of Bandipora who qualified in the examination in 2001 and is currently holding the position of Deputy Director General. Syed Adil Zahoor holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Government Degree College Boys Baramulla. He has done his Masters from the University of Kashmir and later on qualified for the Junior Research Fellowship in 2020. Adil comes from a middle-class family but the financial constraints did not deter him from dreaming big. Adil said that living in a remote village where there is a lack of basic facilities, especially in terms of the internet, transport and good schooling makes it very difficult for the students here, despite all odds he qualified
