Hanoi [Vietnam], March 9: Singer Tung Duong revealed that he will hold a live show at a stadium later this year if he continues to receive support from Gen Z. This announcement thrilled thousands of fans, who applauded enthusiastically.
Opening the Her Concert at the My Dinh Athletics Stadium (Hanoi) on the evening of March 7th, Tung Duong surprised thousands of spectators by rappelling down onto the stage during two songs, "Pregnant" and "Phoenix Wings ." The elaborate staging and energetic performance style caused an explosion of excitement among the audience.
Not stopping there, he went on to perform " Rebirth ," a song composed specifically for him by Tang Duy Tan. The arrangement was revamped with a fast-paced, youthful rhythm, different from Tung Duong's familiar style before. When the audience rose to their feet and sang along, the enthusiastic atmosphere made the arena erupt with excitement.
"Rebirth" was originally written based on inspiration from Tung Duong's love story with his wife. However, behind this song lies a bigger ambition: connecting with young audiences. When he asked his cousin to write music for him, the singer harbored the desire for a hit song that could spread widely on social media. The result exceeded expectations, as the song quickly went viral on many platforms, making Tung Duong's name more familiar to Generation Z.
During the performance, the male singer continued to surprise the audience by boldly covering a series of songs popular with young people, including the ballad "E is Impossible" and "The Wrong Name on the Wedding Invitation ." These choices show that Tung Duong is actively expanding the boundaries of his music. No longer confined to works with an academic style, he boldly approaches pop hits while still maintaining his own unique personality.
Not only did Tung Duong impress with his singing, but he also delighted the audience with his humor, claiming to be the "youngest singer in the program," even "younger" than Quan AP, Bui Truong Linh, or Bui Cong Nam. During his live performances with the audience, he chose popular songs among young people such as " Who Can Remain Faithful Forever" or " Tomorrow They'll Get Married ," further enlivening the atmosphere.
The most explosive moment of the night was probably when the male singer performed " Ngay chưa giong bao" (A Day Before the Storm ). Unlike his previous performances, this time the song was remixed in a vibrant style. Before singing, Tung Duong jokingly told the audience, "Who says Tung Duong can't sing remixes?". He then sang and danced to the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.
After his explosive performance, the male singer unexpectedly revealed a big plan: if he continues to receive support from young audiences, he might hold a stadium live show later this year. Not only did Tung Duong shine in his solo performances, but he also delivered many memorable moments when collaborating with colleagues. He sang " You Raise Me Up" as a duet with Quoc Thien, creating an emotional harmony. They then collaborated on a medley of " Mother's Dream" and "Mother Loves You" with Bui Cong Nam. The fusion of modern pop and familiar melodies delighted the audience, who sang along enthusiastically.
Sharing his thoughts on this transformation, Tung Duong once said that he doesn't think he's lost his identity, but rather broadened his perspective. While previously he stepped onto the stage with the mindset of conquering the audience with challenging songs, now he wants to connect emotionally with Generation Z. Seeing the young faces singing along with him and recording the moment on stage with their phones, he feels like he's never aged. For Tung Duong, this performance is a sign of his new ambition: to break free from old boundaries and seek a broader musical journey.
