Hanoi [Vietnam], August 19: Tin Nguyen, whose real name is Nguyen Thi Dac Tin, was born in 1997 in Dak Lak. Before venturing into the arts, she was a dancer and studied early childhood education. In 2021, during the social distancing period, her energetic and creative TikTok videos brought her widespread recognition. From a content creator, she gradually shifted her focus to film and participated in many projects such as: " Flip Face 7: One Wish , " " Flip Face 8: Sunny Embrace , " "Detective Kien: The Headless Case ," "The Ghost , " etc. Recently, the TikToker continued her appearance on the big screen when she collaborated with Huynh Lap in " Summer Vacation Afraid of Retirement ," playing the role of Thao Lien.
Sharing her thoughts on her return to the big screen, Tin Nguyen said that Thao Lien is quite different from the impoverished characters she has previously played. In the film, the actress appears in a polished look, often wearing the traditional ao dai dress. To suit the character and the traditional attire, she proactively dieted, maintaining a weight of around 45 kg to achieve a slimmer figure. The 9X actress further shared about the role: "In real life, I'm quite easygoing, cheerful, easily moved, and very sensitive. Meanwhile, Thao Lien is serious, knowledgeable about history, and always maintains a positive and calm demeanor. This is also a challenging aspect of the character."
The actress recounted that there were scenes where, upon entering the set, she was so moved that she burst into tears. However, Thao Lien was not allowed to show such emotions. The character had to maintain a calm expression because she was used to similar situations. "The professional lines weren't difficult, but the emotions I felt while filming were what challenged me. But when I was in Mr. Lap's hands, I realized where my weaknesses lay. Before, I was always confident that I had a lot of emotions to easily get into character, but this film was different. There were scenes where I cried as soon as I entered, but Thao Lien wasn't allowed to cry," the actress confessed.
After numerous projects, Tin Nguyen stated that she has noticed significant progress in her acting. One of the ways she hones her skills is by regularly buying tickets, wearing a mask, and going to the cinema alone to rewatch the films she participated in. According to the actress, sitting directly among the audience helps her observe more clearly how she appears on screen, from expressions and dialogue to acting mistakes. Through this, she can identify her limitations and find ways to overcome them, improving herself to progress further in her career.
