Oman reports 245 new COVID-19 cases as land border closure continues

Muscat (Oman), February 12: The Omani Health Ministry on Thursday announced 245 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total number of
confirmed cases in the country to 136,622, the official Oman News Agency (ONA) reported.
Meanwhile, 206 people recovered during the past 24 hours, taking the overall recoveries to 128,461, while two people reportedly died, pushing the tally up to 1,539, according to a ministry statement quoted by ONA.
The report also said that Oman's land border will remain closed until further notice to curb the spread of the pandemic.
Citizens wishing to return home should do so before 10 a.m. on Feb. 21, 2021, as "no individuals will be allowed to enter the sultanate till the closure of land borders is lifted," it added.
