Mexico City (Mexico) June 25: Mexico international goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco has joined Tijuana for the 2020 Liga MX Apertura season, the club said on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old has arrived from Santos Laguna, with whom he made 126 appearances over more than three years.
In a statement on the club's official website, Tijuana did not say if the move was permanent or a loan. Orozco had been tied to Santos Laguna until December 2021.
He is the 11th new signing for Tijuana since the Liga MX Clausura tournament was canceled in May due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tijuana were 16th in the 18-team standings with two wins from 10 matches when the competition was halted.
Los Xolos last week appointed Argentinian Pablo Guede as their new head coach, days after sacking Gustavo Quinteros.
Liga MX officials announced last week that the Apertura tournament would begin on July 24, with matches to be played without fans until further notice.
Capped nine times for Mexico's national team, Orozco has also had spells at Monterrey and the now-defunct Cobras de Juarez over a professional career spanning 15 years.
